Product FAQ's
We use a coconut apricot blend, which is the most luxurious wax on the market. Our wax is vegan, gluten-free, toxin-free, paraben-free, phthalate-free, comes from renewable sources, and is made right here in the United States. It is also made up entirely of FDA approved waxes. When the candle wick is trimmed and burned properly, the candle burns cleanly, and without soot.
In contrast, soy wax touted by many other clean candle makers and brands is not only a cheaper product but also an inferior one (in our opinion!) as it leaves an ugly appearance after each burn, can sinkhole & crater, and many times the manufacturing process for soy wax is actually MORE harmful to the environment (uses heavy petrochemicals). We make all of our candles in our flagship studio in the USA! We are based out of Houston, Texas. Even the organic wax and the certified clean fragrance we develop is manufactured in America.
So many things! We're phthalate-free, carcinogen-free, mutagen-free, paraben-free, sulfate-free, and phosphate-free to name a few reasons. We're also vegan, and pet-safe and family-friendly!
Phthalates (pronounced THAL-ates) are chemicals commonly used in scented products to enhance fragrance throw and prolong scent longevity. Parabens, on the other hand, are preservatives added to home scents to prolong their shelf life. Great question! Many folks don't know that how you burn your candle is just as important as WHAT goes into your candle's creation. Trim wooden wicks to 5mm (1/4") prior to each burn.
Don't place them near drafts, open windows, or where heating/cooling vents blow air onto the candle. Allow 2-3 hours per burn to allow wax to melt completely to the edges of the vessel before extinguishing. Never burn a candle longer than 5 hours.
Never leave a candle unattended, and keep it away from children, pets, and drafts. Failure to burn candles properly is a fire hazard risk. It's just not worth it!
Yes! We use natural essential oils to fragrance our candles. With regards to pet safety, always keep flames away from pets and children. Because testing for pet-safety is beyond our scope, we always recommend keeping products away from pets & children to avoid accidental ingestion.

Make sure your wick is trimmed to 3/16”-1/4” before lighting. If the wick is too long, the wax will not pull up the wick and the wick will extinguish.
Like a traditional cotton wick, wood wicks do require a little attention before each burn (perhaps even more than cotton wicks). Be sure to gently snap off the ash or top of the burned section along the top edge and then light as usual.
If when burning the candle for long period of time you notice your flame getting too low, it may be necessary to extinguish the flame and when cool tap off any excess ash or burnt wood along the top of the wick. The flame will return to its proper height.
Be careful to not let any debris from the wick (or anything else!) fall into the candle.
Allow the candle to get a full melt pool (all the way to the edges of the container) each time you burn the candle (typically 2-4 hours) this is especially important during the first time you burn it. This prevent the candle from tunneling and ensures the candle burns evenly and you get the most from your candle.
Do not burn any candle for longer than 4 hours at a time.

We tend to overpackage our items (all plastic-free!) but occasionally carriers do mess up. But don't fear! With Checkout+ on your order, we guarantee you'll get the item(s) you paid for in intact condition, or your money back. We'll try to replace in-stock items, so please file your damaged or defective claim here for easy self-service.
If you don't have Checkout+ on your order, you as the customer are responsible for filing claims directly with the shipping carrier for lost or damaged items. AEMBR is happy to assist by providing any necessary documentation within our capabilities to support the claim process. If you need assistance, send us an email to help@aembr.co
Excluding any final-sale items, you can return unused products in new, saleable condition to AEMBR. Refunds can be provided on eligible items/orders, less the non-refundable merchant processing fee (3%), which is a pass-through charge to the payment processors.
Orders with our Checkout+ Protection in partnership with Loop are eligible for free returns & exchanges, and an extended 90 day satisfaction guarantee.

Our warranty provides a guarantee against manufacturer defects.
The guarantee covers any manufacturing, design, or material defect. Please notify us within 30 days of noticing any defects.
It does not cover damage, improper use, or other issues that are not attributable to a manufacturer defect.

We completely get it, we change our minds too! While we wish could, once an order is placed, regretfully we are unable to alter or cancel it. We hope to have a cancellation window one day in the future.
Unfortunately due to Shopify-wide limitations, we are unable to retroactively apply coupons to your order once it has been placed. We recommend saving it for future use.
Yes! CLICK HERE Sometimes we forget to get that special someone a gift and realize it at the last minute! We've got you covered. ÆMBR gift cards are delivered digitally and are sold in denominations of $30 to $240.
Enter the recipient's email at checkout (not your own) and it will be delivered immediately to their email.
If you would like to send the gift card yourself, at a later time, enter your own email at checkout then forward to your loved one, friend, co-worker etc. whenever you'd like to do so!

Unless otherwise stated, we typically strive to ship in-stock, fulfillable orders within 1-2 business days.
Domestic shipping can take up to 5 business days, but may take longer.
International shipping could take up to 5-8 business days, but may take longer.
During global supply chain peak periods, shipping times could be longer than usual.

Shipping rates can vary depending on your region and are calculated at checkout. Domestic shipping within the contiguous US is free on orders over $99.

We offer low-cost, flat-rate shipping domestic and international, and domestic shipping is free on orders over a nominal amount (which may vary from time to time) within the continental United States.
Once your order is placed, you will receive a confirmation email letting you know that our fulfillment team has received your order. Once your order is fulfilled, you will receive an email notification with your tracking information. Shipping fees are non-refundable.
We currently ship to the United States and Canada. We hope to re-open international shipping soon as we are currently negotiating awesome rates with major third party carriers to make AEMBR's clean luxury even more accessible to our international clients.
We offer refunds! Exchanges and store credit get you 100% of your purchase price back, while refunds to the original payment method are subject to a nonrefundable 3% merchant processor fee. To avoid the fee, please select an exchange or store credit option during the process of applying for a return.
Return shipping is covered by Aembr when the original order was placed with Checkout+.

A refund request can be submitted within 30 days after the purchase is made. Refunds cannot be requested until the order is delivered.
To return an item, please head to the returns center. If filing a claim against our satisfaction guarantee (valid on Checkout+ orders), please do so here.
When requesting an Exchange, you receive 100% of the value of the order towards an exchanged product(s). When requesting a refund to your original payment method, you are entitled to a full refund less any shipping fees and a 3% merchant processing fee (also known as a restocking fee). This is a passthrough charge by the credit card companies and we as the merchant do not get reimbursed for this charge on refunded orders.
